YogaBears characters - the seven chakra bears

Meet the YogaBears: The Seven Chakra Characters

Every YogaBears party is built around seven characters, and each one carries a job to do beyond looking good in a party photo. Every bear represents one of the seven chakras, the energy centres yoga tradition maps from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, and each one teaches a different emotional superpower through play rather than a lesson.

Depending on which package you book, one, two or three of the bears come along to lead the celebration in person. Here they are, in the order the chakras actually run, from the ground up.

The Story

Who Are the Bears and Where Did They Come From?

The seven YogaBears and their superpowers come from the seven chakras found within the body.

Chakras are energy centres, points where energy moves through the body. The word itself comes from Sanskrit and roughly means wheel, or more precisely, a wheel of spinning energy. Picture each chakra as a small, whirling powerhouse, taking in what the body needs and letting go of what it doesn't.

Chakras are thought to draw energy from the world around us the way a house draws power from the electricity grid. Imagine a current running the length of the spine, from the base up to the crown of the head, powering each of the seven centres along the way.

That's the tradition YogaBears borrows from, then turns into something a five-year-old can actually feel through movement, breath and story.

The Seven Bears, from Root to Crown

Mula - Root Chakra Grounding Bear
Bear #1

Mula

Root Chakra Grounding Bear: Happiness

This is Mula, our beautiful red YogaBear. Mula's superpower is happiness.

Mula lives in the Root Chakra, the energy centre at the base of the spine. The Root Chakra is our foundation. It connects us to the earth and helps us feel safe, calm, supported and ready to explore the world.

Mula teaches children that real happiness grows when they feel loved, safe, secure and supported just as they are. Through movement, breath and play, Mula helps every child remember: I belong here. I am safe in my body. I am happy being me.

Stan - Sacral Chakra Creativity Bear
Bear #2

Stan

Sacral Chakra Creativity Bear: Creativity

Meet Stan, our orange YogaBear. Stan's superpower is creativity, and he represents the Sacral Chakra.

The Sacral Chakra sits between the base of the spine and the navel, linked to the lower abdomen, kidneys, bladder, circulatory system and reproductive organs. It's the chakra of emotion, desire, personality and creativity.

Stan helps children discover their own creative superpower and see how their emotions can unlock it. If a child feels strongly about helping someone, Stan is the reminder that creativity is what turns that feeling into action.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the seven YogaBears characters?+

Mula, Stan, Pura, Hata, Sid, Ajna and Rah: seven bears, each tied to a different chakra and carrying its own superpower, from happiness and creativity to strength, love, truth, dreams and freedom. Together they're the heart of every YogaBears party.

What is a chakra, in a way kids can actually understand?+

Chakras are the seven energy centres in the body, running from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Think of each one as a wheel of spinning energy with its own job to do. YogaBears turns that idea into something a child can feel through movement and play, rather than something they have to sit still and be taught.

Is the chakra concept in YogaBears based on real yoga tradition?+

Yes. The seven chakras are a genuine, long-established part of yoga philosophy. YogaBears adapts that tradition into age-appropriate movement, storytelling and breathing exercises for children, a simplified, playful entry point rather than a replacement for the tradition itself.

Will my child meet all seven bears at their party, or just one?+

It depends on your package. Bear Club includes one YogaBears character experience, while Bear Hug and Bear Magic include an enhanced two-character experience, so the bigger the package, the more of the seven bears show up in person.

What age group are the YogaBears characters suitable for?+

The bears and their chakra stories work across the full YogaBears age range, roughly 2 to 12, with each session adapted so younger children get simpler, sensory versions of the same ideas and older children get more structured yoga and breathwork tied to each bear's theme.

Can my child pick their favourite bear before the party?+

Yes, and it's worth asking. Most children gravitate toward one bear's superpower, whether that's Pura's strength, Stan's creativity or Hata's love, and knowing your child's favourite in advance helps us shape the session around it.
